Our Beliefs

  • At Bethel, we believe that the Bible, our primary standard, is God’s authoritative Word, and the means by which believers are able to discern God’s will for His creation.
  • We believe the Westminster Confession of Faith, and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms correctly explain the truths and doctines contained in God’s Holy Word, the Scriptures.
  • We believe the historic creeds, the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed, are accurate summaries of the most important doctrines contained in the Scriptures.
  • We believe that the living and true God, our triune Creator, has instituted the worship of himself by all people everywhere in spirit and in truth.
  • We believe that public worship is a meeting of the triune God with his covenant people. In the covenant, God promises his chosen ones that he will dwell among them as their God and they will be his people. Because of our understanding of worship, we are committed to doctrinal purity in our worship service and in our personal lives.
  • We are Reformed in our theology and Presbyterian in our government.
  • We are committed to working together to build Christ’s kingdom as a “Covenantal” community of believers. Because man’s chief end is to glorify God and fully to enjoy him forever, all of life is to be worshipful.
